When you finish reading this, you’ll want to catch the Red eye, and we don’t meant the one landing at Pearson Airport. We’re talking about the 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Red eye, for sale now at Ontario Chrysler serving Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga and Oakville. A little less hard-to-get than the big-buzz Dodge Demon, this SRT beauty comes loaded with tantalizing features. We can just see you sizzling down those 400 series highways. Need more? Read on.
Under the Hellcat Red eye hood thumps the heart of the Demon, a powerful 6.2-liter HEMI high-output V-8 engine that grabs 797 hp and 707 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s matched up with a TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission. As on the Demon, the Redeye has had 25 major component upgrades, including a boosted supercharger, stronger connecting rods and pistons, a high-speed valve train and fuel injection system, and a lubrication system that’s been tweaked for even better performance.
Is the Hellcat Redeye powerful?
First up, this engine has the largest factory supercharger of any production car – 2.7 liters versus 2.4 liters. It has an increased boost pressure of 14.5 psi versus 11.6 psi. It also has a higher rpm limit: 6,500 rpm versus 6,200 rpm. Where fuel is concerned, this one has two dual-stage fuel pumps versus just one.
What gas mileage can I expect from the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye?
At full throttle, the high-output engine consumes 1.43 gal/min (5.4 liters/min) of fuel – draining the fuel tank in just under 11 minutes, but when driven in normal highway conditions, you can look forward to 22 miles per gallon (mpg).
What are some of the other new features on the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye?
More, more, more, as the old disco song goes: The Hellcat Redeye has multiple features to make your jaw drop. For example, how about three sources of intake air: the new dual-snorkel hood, a driver-side Air Catcher headlamp, and the Inlet near the wheel liner. Big power: The Torque Reserve delivers up to 3.9 psi of boost at launch and up to 55 percent more engine torque. It’s also the only factory production car with both SRT Power Chiller™ and After-Run Chiller, so keeping this Hellcat cool isn’t impossible. Track the coolant temps on the supercharger via the SRT Performance Pages in the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen and know exactly when the car is ready for another run. She tops speeds of 203 mph, after all—no point in both of you melting down with the excitement. Also on board: high-strength steel prop shafts that provide a 15 percent increase in torque capacity, and 41-spline half shafts that jack the torque capacity by 20 percent. Boom!
What does the Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye interior look like?
Every Hellcat is a feast for the eyes, and the Hellcat Redeye is a uniquely styled vehicle inside and out. The interior features a 220-mph red speedometer, SRT Hellcat Redeye logo splash screen, Light Black Chrome instrument panel badge with SRT Hellcat Redeye logo, and the eye-catching SRT Hellcat Redeye logo on the key fobs.
What else should I know about the 2019 SRT Hellcat Redeye?
Also on board: high-strength steel prop shafts that provide a 15 percent increase in torque capacity, and 41-spline half shafts that jack the torque capacity by 20 percent. Boom! Two final drive ratios are available: a standard 2.62:1 or optional 3.09:1 for even more launch capability. And, if we need to say more: the 2019 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is the most powerful and fastest factory-produced vehicle on the road. Best of all, she’s on sale now, at Ontario Chrysler.
