2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Award Winning Truck | Toronto, Mississauga

If you live in Brampton or Oakville, you probably spend a fair amount of time in your vehicle. And while it’s always exciting to see a good-looking truck waiting for you in your driveway or parking lot, what’s inside also counts for quite a bit. Gone are the days of the bare-bones interiors on pickups. Truck lovers expect the same comfort and style enjoyed by drivers of sedans and SUVs, and the 2019 Dodge Ram interior and exterior were designed with that expectation in mind. As a result, it’s won awards. These juries see a lot of vehicles, and the redesign on this one is catching a lot of attention for good reason.
Every trim offers its own unique design. A raised centre stack that snuggles a bit closer to the driver makes room for the handy 12-inch touchscreen that can showcase one app or two simultaneously in split-screen form using Uconnect 4C NAV. An all-new toggle switch bank just below the touchscreen allows for physical control of specific features. And the driver gains from nearly an inch of seat height as well as the new telescoping steering wheel. Get comfortable, in other words! We like the sound of that.
In the past, having decent air flow in a truck often meant a lot of ambient noise for passengers. The 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 has an HVAC system with 25 per cent more air flow, minus the roar. Passengers in the cab enjoy 50 per cent more airflow than previous models could offer, and an active noise cancellation system on 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 equipped models, along with acoustic glass bring ambient sounds down to a low 67.1 db. This is, to put it plainly, the quietest Dodge Ram 1500 ever made.
With 151 liters of interior storage, the 2019 Ram 1500 blows the competition out of the water with nearly 100 percent more storage capacity. Boosted from 23 to 39 liters, the redesigned center console offers supreme utility, with more than 12 different storage combinations. The widened docking area with optional wireless charging now stows a small tablet or smartphone. Tuck your 3-position sliding cup holder tray away under the center armrest, and you’ll be able to use the very handy deep storage tub designed to hold a 15-inch laptop. Passengers in back get two additional cup holders as well as a tablet holder.
The center console has five USB ports – three up front, two in back. Three of those USB ports are full-function and can communicate with the Uconnect interface. Throw in two three-pronged 115-volt household plugs (one in the center stack and one at the rear of the center console) and an additional 115-volt plug located in the RamBox, and you’ve tripled the number of outlets featured on the previous model. You’re now able to handle up to 400 watts. A powerful truck in all senses of the word. The 2019 Ram 1500 Trims are: SXT, Big Horn, Rebel, Sport, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Laramie Limited.
The 2019 Ram 1500’s cab is four inches longer and the rear of the cab is pushed an additional two inches. Front and rear doors are now one inch larger on Crew Cab configurations, while the rear door is one inch shorter on Quad Cab models. In addition to sporting the largest cab in the segment, the 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 offers your passengers eight degrees of slide-recline with best-in-class leg room of 45.1 inches. The flat-load floor is bookended by two Ram Bins, now 5.5 inches longer than the previous Ram 1500. Stow your four-inch drop hitch, keep cargo out of sight and make sure that interior stays clean with these handy, large-sized bins. Each bin has a tie down to keep cargo secure in transit.
The design team seems to have taken a good look at everything, right down to the key fob, enlarging it slightly to make room for new function keys including the power-release tailgate. Higher trim levels have specially branded fobs, and overall battery life has been improved to last up to six years. Every single trim level of the largest cab in the segment features unique interior colors and premium materials, and each model makes its own statement with paint colours, wheels, badging, grilles and more opportunities for customization.
