How Many Miles Can a Jeep Wrangler Last: Are they Reliable?

550 × 234

Jeep Wranglers are notoriously reliable. Ask any Jeep owner. In fact, if you only kinda cared for your Jeep you would still likely do better than 300,000 KM before you had to put her to bed. If you really cared about maintaining your Jeep, you’d likely get about 650,000 KM before putting her out to pasture. I don’t know about you, but that screams reliable to me. So, the more reliable you are to your Jeep, the more reliable it will be for you. It’s a mutual appreciation relationship.

You have to admit, a large part of the Jeep Wrangler’s charm is the fact that it really is the coolest kid on the block. And it’s not often that the cool kid fits in everywhere, but this cool kid is equally at home off-roading as it is in commuter traffic. You could even bring her home to Mom and you know what Mom is like.

So, be good to your Jeep and your Jeep will be good to you. There are a few ways to make sure you are taking the best care of your baby. Write these down, or better yet, print them off:

  • Change the oil every six months or 8,000 KM
  • Rotate the tires once a year
  • Take it to a trusted mechanic
  • Change the serpentine belt
  • Maintain your brakes, fluids, belts and electrical wires
  • Buy new tires at 65,000 KM
  • Have your mechanic keep a close eye on your suspension, especially if you are off-roading a lot
  • Every four or five years, change your shock absorbers
  • A hard top will last longer than a soft top. If you have a soft top, park your Wrangler in a garage.

Your love-affair with the Jeep will be a long and happy one, as long as you treat her right.
