I don’t know about you, but sometimes I think change is a pain in the butt. Not all change, mind you, but some. I used to have a partner who would rearrange all the furniture in the living room, weekly, and I would inevitably have an insomnia night, head out to the living room, trip over a chair and break the lamp. That kind of change is just annoying as heck. But then there’s change that’s really exciting—like the fact that the Jeep Wrangler is rearranging its power options for 2020. Way back in 2019, we only had two choices: a conventional 3.6L V6 or a turbo-charged 2.0L 4 cylinder. Bring on 2020, Brampton, Barrie, Oakville and Mississauga, because Jeep will now be offering both conventional and hybrid versions of these engines.

The eTorque hybrid powertrains are limited to the four-door Wrangler Sahara. Other trims will carry on with the non-hybrid 3.6L V6 as standard and the 2.0L inline four as optional. The V6 comes with a six-speed manual transmission, with the option of an 8-speed automatic—the four cylinder only comes in automatic.

Also new for 2020 is the Black and Tan trim—which comes in a black and tan trim. I know. You weren’t expecting that, were you? It’s available in both two and four door models.

We’re assuming that the Black and Tan will also offer a 3.0L turbo-diesel V6, but that remains to be seen.

If you’re wondering where to buy the 2020 Wrangler hybrid, wonder no more! We’ll have it in stock here at Ontario Chrysler this fall.
