2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat Daytona for Sale in Toronto, Mississauga
Bringing the Daytona Speedway to the World
Hey Hellcat fans, it’s time for a little blast from the past. I am talking a Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition of the 2020 Dodge Charger with a “widebody” proportion. This blue beauty you see above (picture care of caranddriver.com) is a 717-hp version of a Hellcat to add to the Charger family. You can just see the devotion that went into creating this as an adoring tribute to the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona. And it is likely to be highly coveted as there will be only so many to go around, only 25 produced in Canada to be exact. So right off the top I’ll say get your butts into the Brampton, Barrie, Oakville, Mississauga, Toronto, Peel and Burlington Chrysler dealerships for a look see. It is now available at the showrooms of Ontario Chrysler and if you want to be safe rather than sorry give Vice President Dave Pozzobon a call at (905) 609-2199 to order while you can.
To get more specific about the wonders of this new Dodge edition they decided to add another 10 horsepower to the significant 707 they already had going. As with the Challenger, the 2020 Charger Daytona's extra 10 horsepower come via a revised powertrain calibration. Dodge hasn't promised that the calibration will wander into the Charger Hellcat line-up, but it seems more than likely.
With the new Charger it is not possible to be an exact replica of the 1969 Charger Daytona as that spherical nose and high-flying wing would be too difficult to replicate. However they do include the rear stripe graphic aspect along with a new “Daytona” decklid and that Daytona extraordinaire B5 blue paint. It will also be available with Pitch Black, Triple Nickel, or White Knuckle paint, too, but the exclusive B5 Blue will probably be the one that collectors go wild for. Though the White Knuckle cars have the Daytona decal and spoiler in blue, and the Hellcat badge gets a bright finish.
That’s not all that is unique with the 2020 Dodge Charger. For example the set of 20-by-11-inch Warp Speed wheels have a new satin carbon finish wrapped in 305/35ZR Pirelli all-season performance tires which create great traction. Of course the three-season tires are also available. In addition the black Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear brakes with vented rotors do well to erase speed.
If you will recall, the 1969 Charger Daytona was designed specifically for NASCAR competition, and a prototype of the car was first out of the gate to post a 200-plus-mph average lap speed, which set a record that stood for an outstanding 17 years. Only 501 units were produced, which was just enough to meet production requirements for the series. It is appropriate that Dodge will only make 501 copies of the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition of which as I mentioned only 25 will be produced in Canada.
To continue with this streak down memory lane Dodge did not stop at the exterior when it came referencing the 1969 Charger Daytona. By that I mean the blue accent stitching on the black seats. It is also sweet to note that these snazzy performance seats are heated and made of ventilated leather and synthetic leather that sport the label "Daytona" embroidered on the seatbacks. Continuing on our interior tour the blue accent stitching carries on, also making an appearance on the centre console armrest, door panels and armrest, dashboard, and shifter.
The flat-bottom steering wheel has silver and blue stitching accents, which can also be found on the velour-bound floor mats. Both are new to the 2020 Daytona Charger 50th Anniversary Edition. To move to the dash the instrument panel and console bezels is made of carbon fibre, and a faux-suede headliner to finishes the aesthetics of this feature. Also a custom IP badge located on the passenger side with Hellcat and Daytona logos as a prerequisite identifies each car as however many out of the 501 produced. Now that the wait is over for the 2020 Dodge Daytona Charger, charge into our dealership to get your hands on this historically hip, marvelously modernized collectors item. If you are lucky enough to do so you will be thrilled to experience shades of the Daytona speedway right in your own driveway and beyond!
