2020 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L Turbo w E-Torque is the Best to Buy | Toronto
Best Is Yet to Come Folks
Calling all Wrangler fans, calling all Wrangler fans! There is a saying that goes write what you know, and I think it is also applicable to cars. What I mean by that is stick with what feels right, with what feels natural for you. So, for all you Jeep Wrangler fans out there the conclusion is elementary; drive what you know. The Jeep Wrangler family has a long historic tradition of creating pick ups that go beyond the ordinary, that have set a standard for power, capability and functionality. Some might even consider the trail that Jeeps blazed the stuff of legend, but they certainly haven’t stalled since then. Jeep continues its legacy with its forward thinking updates, modifications for fuel efficiency and increased capability. Which is why I want to tell you all about the 2020 Jeep Wrangler 2.0 litre Turbo with e-Torque with the hybridized four-cylinder engine. I also want to share why it will end up cutting an entirely new trail as a pick up with the best powertrain available as it will be here for the test driving at your local Toronto, Mississauga, Burlington, Oakville, Barrie and Peel dealerships.
Traditional four cylinders have been thought to be much less smooth than trucks with more cylinders but hang onto your hats. The 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon for example with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine; for starters it was amplified by FCA’s eTorque mild-hybrid system and paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This unique collaboration of technology resulted in an outstanding drivetrain. It’s not that the available 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 is not a fantastic machine as it really delivers the horsepower at 285 while the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine runs at 270hp. However the 2020 Jeep Wrangler 2.0 litre Turbo with e-Torque has a 295-pound torque to its name while the Pentastar can only deliver at most 260 pounds per foot. It is true that the a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 will be offered in the 202o Jeep Wrangler and word is it could be arriving in 2020, but that has yet to be determined if that will be the model year or calendar year. In any case when it does arrive it will measure 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet. However let’s return to the hybrid 2020 Jeep Wrangler 2.0 litre Turbo so I can tell you all about why it is the best of the best in five categories.
There are a lot of bonuses with the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Turbo’s four-cylinder drivetrain and just one of those is of course the considerable increase in torque. Say you are hanging out just waiting for traffic on the highway to move. Then when suddenly it does the torque will propel the massive four-door Jeep Wrangler from a standstill, up to highway speeds without blinking an eye. When you have the need for speed it will be surprising that achieving that happens much quicker than you might expect driving a 4,500-pound Jeep. However the benefits of this powertrain don’t end there. You might get a thrill cruising at high speed, but the torque is more practical than that. It can serve you well over the entire rev range, which can make for a relaxing ride no matter the speed or location, on road or off.
Perks of eTorque
The way the 2020 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L Turbo eTorque can handle the road is due to the fact that it provides an extra 70 pound-feet amount but that is not where that stops. The engine has a belt-driven motor-generator and a battery pack mounted under the floor about the size of a suitcase. The advantage of this system is the smooth engine stop-start ability, reducing combustion when you are back on that bumper to bumper highway to save fuel. Though you may be dreaming about the backwood roads at least you will not be burning through your tank load doing it. These perks go a long way to improving efficiency, something intelligent battery charging also offers. eTorque smoothes out the shifts by spinning the engine only slightly when changing gears.
Benefits of Fuel Efficiency
One of the major benefits of a four-cylinder Wrangler is the fuel efficiency, which is an improvement over the other variations of Jeeps designed for off-roading. That is an absolute plus when you know you can count on enough fuel to get you into the woods and safely out again! Not to mention that you will do so in comfort. The four-cylinder has been evaluated at 22 miles per gallon during city driving, 24 on the highway and 22 MPG combined. This is better than the V6 model can achieve, in the city. It was also evaluated with a bit of heavy-footed testing and averaged around 19 miles per gallon. That’s is less than the Environmental Protection Agency requires but the test vehicle was new, and had less than 500 miles on it, so its engine was probably still working well. The four-cylinder is also beneficial on account of a two-stage oil pump, direct fuel injection and a twin-scroll turbo for faster reactions. Plus, the feel good feeling you have when you know that you are leaving less of a carbon trail in your wake is a nice. Especially when you are hauling the family around and talking to the kids about it, green is good folks.
Benefits of a Quiet Ride
Though the 2020 Jeep Wrangler 2.o litre Turbo from its inception was designed for rugged terrain and off road adventure this powertrain also creates a very smooth, soothing ride. While you may not be guaranteed a quiet ride with your companion in shot gun hooting and hollering, at least you know the engine will do its part to keep it down. It may not be immediately apparent but the major difference between it and a regular four-cylinder is the detail this particular drivetrain has been afforded. It is polished and quiet running no matter how hard the tachometer is working. It may be a more relaxed drive but it is worth it to mention that it still produces a growl when you make a heavy acceleration. That also may not be a guarantee a quiet companion either, quite the opposite! Happy trails my friends!
