Good News for Jeep Lovers

Jeep lovers, we know you’re keen for fresh bulletins about the new Wrangler (JL) , but you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer for a debut glimpse of the latest model of your sweet old flame. That said, we do have other exciting news to warm your hearts as winter winds down. Mike Manley, CEO of Jeep and RAM Trucks, recently confirmed that the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk will indeed dazzle the New York Auto Show in April. Yes, in the company of the also-hotly-anticipated Dodge Challenger Demon. Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! That’s going to be one very intense automotive duet in New York.

Manley also confirmed in a recent interview that a Jeep pick-up truck is very much in the works, along with an updated Grand Wagoneer. Buoyed by the global success of the Compass, the CEO has plans to deepen the Jeep brand internationally with continuous development of stalwarts from the Jeep rosters of days gone by. Taking what’s been great historically and making it better for Jeep fans around the world is very much on Manley’s mind.

If losing out on the pure pleasure of off-road driving worries you with the increased talk of autonomous driving technologies, Jeep wants to put those fears to rest. While new tech will be added according to increased consumer demand for choice, the old-school spirit of Jeep-as-adventure is in the driver’s seat in upcoming models. Choice is the key element; autonomous technologies can be activated, or not, depending on the needs of the driver.
