Redesigned new 2015 Chrysler 200 presented at the Detroit Auto Show

The
Detroit Auto Show has been held for over a century but this year is the 25th
anniversary of it becoming an International venue. Since its debut in 1989 the
auto show, now called North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), has grown
to host more than 200 exhibitors. Among them is our favorite automaker and this
year is also an important year for Chrysler who made several announcements in
Detroit.

First,
Chrysler announced that current discussions with the Canadian and Ontario
Governments that could lead to a $1-Billion investment to upgrade their Windsor
Plant. The assembly plant is already producing several vehicles including the Dodge Grand Caravan
and the Chrysler
Town & Country
, but retooling the place would allow to build a
new minivan model.

The
other big star of the show was the redesigned Chrysler 200 sedan.  As Al
Gardner, President and CEO — Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC explained “The all-new Chrysler 200 lays the
groundwork for the future of the Chrysler Brand with a timeless, elegant
design; clever functionality; a standard nine-speed automatic transmission; a
class-leading all-wheel-drive system; more than 60 safety and security features
and a host of new technology that drivers and passengers will
value.”1

All
models of the new 2015 Chrysler 200 are equipped with a 2.4-liter engine producing 184 horsepower and 173
lb.-ft. of torque, rotary dial e-shifter and nine-speed transmission. Fuel
economy has been improved with a 13-percent gain compared to the current model.

The new
Chrysler sedan also offers many safety and security technologies such as an
adaptive Cruise Control-Plus, a Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-plus,
LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus ad electronic park Brake with Safe Hold.
It will be start with an MSRP of $22.495 and is expected to be available in our
Chrysler showroom this coming spring.
